No. Paying a referrer out of a recruit's subscription would be a chain-recruitment pyramid scheme under the UK Trading Schemes Act 1996 and Trading Schemes Regulations 1997. Every member's £10 stays with The Dev Log. Members who reach 4+ active referrals unlock a Trusted Member badge and become eligible to apply for paid contributor work — payment is for work delivered, not for recruitment.

Are any of the inventions in the registry granted patents?

No. The inventions registry at /inventions lists ideas, drafts and openly-published doctrines belonging to the community. Nothing on it has been granted by the UK Intellectual Property Office. Listing confers no monopoly, no licensing power and no advisory authority.

Every £10/month membership fee paid to The Dev Log is split equally three ways:

£3.33 — Referral pool: paid to the member who introduced the new subscriber
£3.33 — Charity pool: held as segregated cash, distributed quarterly to verified UK-registered charities
£3.33 — Empire pool: covers operations, hosting, founder/admin pay and advocacy work

Member funds are not placed at market risk until FCA authorisation for a collective investment scheme is in place under FSMA 2000.
